Geography is the study of the world. Geographers must possess certain knowledge and skills.

• Using Globes --- A globe is a three-dimensional scale model of the Earth. A geographer must know certains aspects of the world in order to use and understand a globe such as: continent, hemisphere, equator, longitude, meridian, prime meridian, latitude, and parallel.
   
• Using Maps --- A map is a two-demensional representation of a geographic area. A knowledge of maps is required before a geographer is able to read maps. This knowledge consits of: cardinal directions, intermediate directions, compass rose, scale, symbol, map key, and locator.
   
• Different Kinds of Maps --- There are many different kinds of maps including : political, physical, elevation, relief, historical and distribution.
